SAIMA ALI
A graduate of the National College of Arts, Lahore Pakistan, Saima Ali holds a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts, specializing in Miniature Painting. Since her graduation in 2005, Saima has had various exhibitions of her work, nationally and internationally in Jordan, Syria, Algeria, UAE, UK, Italy, Japan, and China. She was selected to participate in Artist Residencies in Atina, Italy in 2016, and most recently at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art, in the USA. She was also invited by the Ministry of Culture in Algeria and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture in Syria to give workshops and display her work. Her work experiments with the traditional technique of Miniature painting with new media and contemporary subject matter.
Saima started her Art teaching career in Amman, Jordan, where she taught at HRH Queen Rania’s school, the International Academy. She moved back to Pakistan in 2009 to teach Miniature Painting at the National College of Arts, Rawalpindi. She has been an Assistant Professor at the Fine Arts Department.
Saima is currently based in Karachi and continues her work from her private studio.
