Nurjahan Akhlaq grew up between Pakistan, US, Turkey and Canada.  She has a degree in filmmaking from Concordia University, Montréal, and an MFA from Goldsmiths College, London.  Akhlaq’s practice encompasses film, photography, installation and collage, and is inspired by a variety of sources including art history, cinema, archives, and vernaculars originating in Lahore.  Currently based in Lahore, she is visiting faculty at National College of Arts.  Her work has exhibited internationally and is in a number of private collections.
