Aisha Abid Hussain, born in Pakistan received her BFA degree from the National College of Arts, Lahore, Pakistan in 2008 (Passed with Honours) and MFA from Goldsmiths College, University of London, England in 2012 (Passed with Merit&Distinction in studio practice) Hussain has got a diversed practice, working with variety of mediums from Miniature Painting to Photography and Film. Her work has been exhibited widely in Group and Solo shows internationally. She is Currently working as an Assistant Professor (Visiting) on MFA at National College of Arts and at MAADS and MAAE at Beconhouse National University, Lahore, Pakistan.
Inspired by the family archive of wedding photographs and love letters exchanged between couples during courtship, my recent body of work is a critique on the precedent of love that resides in marriage.
Memory is the trace of a wave goodbye made with a slightly clenched fist.
