ALI KAZIM

Ali Kazim (b 1979), currently lives and works in Lahore. He received his BFA degree from the National College of Arts, Lahore, in 2002 and an MFA from the Slade School of Fine Art, London in 2011. He has been widely exhibited in group and solo exhibitions globally including: ‘Dust’ Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle Warsaw, Poland; Portraits at Selma Feriani Gallery, Tunis and London; The Missing One at OCA, Norway; ‘Ethereal’ Leilah Heller Gallery, NYC; “Beyond The Page” Asia Pacific Museum USA; “Drawn from life: Drawing Form” Green Cardamom gallery London, UK. His solo exhibitions include presentations at Rohtas II in Lahore, Jhaveri Contemporary Mumbai, India; Green Cardamom London, UK, Gallery Espace, New Delhi, India; Cartwright Hall Gallery, Bradford, UK; VM Art Gallery, Karachi, Pakistan and at Ethan Cohen Fine Arts Gallery, New York, USA. The artist has received a number of awards and artist residencies most recently the inaugural 2017 Karachi Biennale jury prize and has been widely collected by institutions such as Metropolitan Museum of Art, Victoria and Albert Museum and the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art.
